While talking to my son in the Hutch I had an idea. Since Nielson and Caruthers are to be torn down, why not wait until the half time show of, say the Boise game, and at a point in the BOP's performance, have the contractor implode both. We could even paint or hang a banner of a bronco on the side. Just an idea

But I am all for it! I explodes and falls and the entire audience starts hootin and hollerin.......
Them Idahoans would think we was crazy or something of that nature....
If they are taken out like Kidd was, it will be a wrecking ball. Imploding is expensive.

Instead of a live bomb, we could implode it simulating a bomb drop with a B-52 flyover. The B-52 alone is awesome.

But seriously ... I'm telling yall -- tearing down those dorms is throwing away money. Another 5-10 years and that Cold-War era architecture is going to be "hip" and "retro". Today's eyesore is tomorrow's charm. It's happened with EVERY American generation.
Remodeled as high-end lodging or even offices, those old dorms could be gold mines for Tech and/or a private developer.

We could get the old cannon back, fire it in the direction of the dorms, and simultaneously implode them!!!! ESPN would be all over it and would likely chip in some dollars for the entertainment value!!!!
The imploding/wrecking of these buildings has been rumored for like 5 years. I don't care how it happens but it needs to happen soon. It would be cool if it could happen after a big win.
Las Vegas did a similar thing for the distruction of the Sands casino. It was next to a casino that had a pirate ship the sailed out and did daily shows. This time they sailed out and fire a fake salvo at the Sands and that was when they imploded it. The B-52 would be awesome.
B-52 idea is pure gold. That would be fricking awesome. I would come to the Mcneese game to watch that!

It should not be announced at what game it would be done. Set up the required barriers for every game, just tell the media that it will happen at half time at one of the games this season. How many people would want to be at each game waiting for it to happen? Think of the TV crews that would be at each game just waiting. This could be huge if marketed correctly.
We might bring back the Cannon and point it toward Nielson and fire it off on touchdowns..I remember it did some damage to the east bleechers one year....
