Yeap! Dems and Obama just don't know how to win a war. Obama is snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Liar, liar, pants on fire!
No way is 2009 the worst year ever. Bush is not president. That's so stupidly rediculous it's laughable .
I get so tired of the ring-wing whackos and their distortions. Get a grip, all of you. Obama is prez now. Change has come. Everything is okay, hunky-dory, righteous!
Y'all really piss me off with this crap.
Are y'all rooting for the numbers to go up now that a Democrat is in office?
The biggest STRATEGIC mistake in Afghanistan was pulling resources out in 2003 for Iraq. I saw it happen overnight when I was there in March 2003. Guess what? Now we are pulling resources out of Iraq to restabilize Afghanistan, and . . . we will probably be pushing resources BACK INTO Iraq in three years when this place starts to fall apart again. Plenty of blame to go around for everyone.
In the meantime, please have a little class and refrain from tossing around these "statistics" like it's a damn football game and your "team" in winning. Sickening.
Well, I am rooting for the USA. And, more to the point, for our wonderful, the best of the best, service men and women!
But, gimme a break when it comes to the politics of this. For any lib to now complain about news of things going bad, and to whine cuz it is reported that 2009 is the worst year ever, is hypocritical....just plain stupid, really.
Where is your lib media, hmmmm? Nothing. Silence. NBC and the other commie networks would eagerly and giddily report US combat casualties when Bush was prez.
"Iraq is slipping fast" one of this board's libs would happily proclaim. Cheering any and all setbacks and bad news. Rooting for more bad news. Remember? Then, when John McCain dared to express some support for the effort in Iraq, the libs went ballistic. Why, they said, that's all anyone needed to vote for Obama.
Well, you got your Obama. So, now what?
I promise it's just the opposite of what you think or just posted (See dawg80's response to your post). This is a tongue in cheek thread and response to the liberals on here, as well as the media, that were beratting our troops in Iraq and Bush with the same similar thread on BB&B (see the very beginning of "Iraq is slipping fast" thread and others) that went on throughout Bush's 2 terms. Now those were as you describe. This is a "back in your liberal face" attempt to show how ridiculous those old threads and those thoughts/liberal talking points actually were back then. If it has upset you, I and we are very sorry and please know our meaning is just the opposite I promise. But if anything, we are defending you and very much believe in what you guys are doing. Again you have to have been here reading their posts the last 8-10 years to understand what this thread was really for I believe.
OK...the Brits are noticing. But our own liberal media and the Dems aren't wanting to mention it now that Mr. Transparent Obama is in charge.
BRIT PAPERS SOUND ALARM ON AFGHAN WAR...
July, August deadliest months for US...
What??? No liberal politico outrage?? No liberal media rabbit hunt??

Obama continues killing innocent people. When is this madness gonna stop?
Pres. Obama, please stop your emperialistic oil-grabbing policies!
Those 1,500 innocent Afghan citizens had nothing to do with 9/11. Yet, you continue to air raid their villages, murdering women and children. Shame on you, Pres. Obama.
innocent? haha
FYI, I didn't "happily" post the fact that at the time "Iraq was slipping fast." I was being a realist, and stated way back then that pulling troops and focus out of Afghanistan was a mistake.
You think that Iraq is over? Wait and see. Mega dittos for Afghanistan.
Obama is in a bad situation. No matter what he does, he will be blamed for any outcome that is negative which is probably both of them.
I'll say it again. GW Bush was a terrible President who was led around by the nose by a bunch of idiotic war-mongers who had zero military experience.
"All roads lead to Putin" -- Thomas Jefferson
right, because a former Secretary of Defense and a U.S. Army General who was on the Joint Chief of Staff know absolutely nothing about the military... Obama should do what Bush and all the whiny idiots were/are afraid to do- unleash hell.
Unfortunately, politicians often get in the way of the military, when they shouldn't. It's the role of the civilian leadership, elected representatives, to oversee the nation's laws and foreign policy and to decide if military action is necessary. Once that decision is made, however, how the military decides to prosecute the action should be left totally to the military. Overall policy should be made by elected officials, the details should be left to the military. Period.
History is full of examples of the civilian leadership interfering in strategic, even tactical, decisions that only military leaders should be making.
President/Congressional leadership to military: We want you to undertake to ...{fill in the blank}.
JCS: Fine, we will. Just stay the hell out of our way while we do that.
Hum...Let's all hope Obama isn't another typical liberal that is a military hater.
