I'm sure B. Hussein Obama does not want to offend anyone. That is unless you ar an American and he tells other countries how selfish we are, spoiled, and apologizes for our successfullness. He is getting to be a bigger douche bag by the day

I, for one, am glad that our war policy is not going to be centered on Revelations.

Why should the Pentagon briefings quote the Bible? Are we fighting Holy wars over seas?

No one should hide their faith. Quoting the Bible should be taken no differently than quoting Winston Churchill for non-believers.

Would you be happier if they quoted Dr. Seuss?

Whether we're fighting a Holy war or not, apparently those we are fighting are.

I agree that no one should hide their faith you can be openly Christian or Islamic in the military...But there is no need to have it on display on official military documents.... There is no direct correlation between the war we're fighting and the bible...Unless the war is Christianity vs. Islam...?

May not be a bad thing, strategy-wise, considering we are dealing with Muslims who want to believe we are Christian Crusaders.

Maybe so, but there are worse things in this world. Maybe is should be a holy war. Which side will the Nancy Pelosi Catholics fall on?

Wow. I just read the article. Those quotes definitely needed to go. It really makes it look like our leadership (Pentagon/Bush) viewed this as a Holy War.

I haven't read it (and I don't particularly have a problem with dropping Scripture from Pentagon briefings), but I do think a Holy War is being fought against us. We might do well to try our best to understand that. If we do, we may better understand how to define success.

But these quotes made it look like this was OUR holy war, not the terrorists.

Which, IMO, is completely consistent with W's perverse thinking.

So as a Christian you are saying it is ok to use the WORD or GOSPEL in vain?

^ terrible idea. No one should be allowed to quote Churchill in public! :icon_wink:

For reference, I am a Christian, but this is just more over-hyped sensationalist journalism. It sounds like the person responsible for adding scripture to the reports retired years ago, and he added scripture to encourage the President for a while in 2003. Good for him. It sounds like that stopped long ago when someone else took over his responsibilities -- long before Obama was a Senator from Illinois, let alone President. What am I missing here (from both sides of this argument) -- what's the big deal?
