Tough loss......... NMSU batters worried me before the game. We had to hit better than we did. On to the next game now. This tournament confuses me, though. By the bracket on the WAC Site, the championship game won't have us in it, regardless. Are we playing for 2nd now? Someone help out a non-baseball person.
Never mind, I see it now. We have to beat SJSU. NMSU, and then we can get to the finals to play either Fresno or Hawaii. Last nights close loss gives us a steep hill to climb now.

Ewing wasn't in the lineup because he caught yesterday and Sim is rotating his catchers as most teams do in college baseball.
And why didn't Ewing DH? Because Roliard was in that spot. And despite Ewing hitting the home run against Hawaii look at the season stats.
Roliard - .426 average on the season.
Ewing - .286 average on the season.
So which batter do you want up four or five times in a game?
Today is my birthday and it will be a great gift from Dawgs if they beat SJS. Go Dawgs!!!!
