I'm unsure about Jackson's little kid issue.
He never really got to be a child, so he became infatuated with children and I guess studied them? Or just tried to help him have fun as a kid like he never got to do. I don't know.

It is something we may never know. Even though some have their minds made up about it, nothing was ever proven in court. The settlement for the one child is common for stars that would rather not be bothered with a lengthy trial and have plenty of money to just make it go away.
I suspect that some minor things happened (if you can ever call sexual misconduct with a child minor). Jackson is a pretty classic textbook case of a man that is very childlike and only attracted to children. At the same time, he did a lot of good for a lot of children, as well.
If he didn't do it, it is really a shame that our society goes after those that are "strange" and "different". We automatically suspect it is true, because the person is so different. That has happened throughout history to innocent and guilty people. If you are "way out there" with your behavior and looks, you tend to be the target of much speculation. Then, if you are accussed of something, it makes it easier for people to believe it is true.
Like I stated, we all have our strong opinions on if anything did or did not happen, but we will never know the whole truth.
In any case, Jackson was an extraordinary entertainer. He had fallen off over the last 10 years, but from what I saw of the dress rehearsal that they are showing from the night before his death, he was going to put on one Hell of a show for his tour. He looked fit and ready to perform.
I don't know why it hit me so hard, but his death was shocking. He was a few years older than me and I grew up listening to his music and always thought of him as a child - even at his current age of death.
Our society/media goes after anybody that makes a good story. Jon and Kate are a perfect example. They did not ostracize Michael because he was different, they did it because he was accused twice of sexual misconduct with a minor and he was the greatest pop singer of all-time. Both of those add up to great ratings and publicity. His "strangeness" just added fuel to the fire, but it was not reason why they went after him.
People love these stories because it somehow makes them feel better about themselves or some other sick pleasure of watching others fail. Let's not get all ridiculous with the "society was picking on Michael becausre he was weird" silliness. This society will chew up and spit anybody out as long as it makes good headlines.
I totally agree. Look at Brittany Spears. The point I was making was that people tend to believe more outlandish things when the person does not look and act like everyone else. The same is true for the non-famous. The media frenzy would have happened with any star. The "believability" of the accusations was made easier because he fit a strange profile.
Very true, and Michael did not help himself out by doing things that were just inexplicable (dancing on the roof of a car before he goes into court for child molestation charges or putting his baby over the balcony rail). The man did himself no favors. However, he did do some great things for charity, but few people know that or care because the bad stuff is more memorable and people like to hear it.
The media coverage has been amazingly obsessive. And it will be kicked up a few notches on Tuesday. CNN is now promising full coverage of the memorial all day Tuesday from LA & around the world. Surely the rest of the media will follow suit.
This whole media thing is beyond me.
Not surprising that the drive by guys are giving it so much attention. I am dissapointed in Fox News for trying to play keep up on something that the majority of their audience had a gut full of on day two. Its the SOS over and over and over and...
Heard the Farah Fawcet joke yet?
I believe the media wasnt sure if people would care that much at first, so they threw it out there and people must have been very interested. So, now we are getting reports on where the body is, how Bubbles is doing, and who is escorting whom to the funeral. It is ridiculous.
After watching the "funeral" I am currently vomiting with disgust. This "great American Icon" was nothing more than a troubled pedophile, ashamed of his own race, and is being lauded by the very people he tried so hard to dissassociate himself from. Anytime you settle out of court for million(s) of dollars you are not innocent. This political correctness is way overboard. This "icon" needed to be in prison. This was nothing more than a disgusting circus. Honor our fallen heroes who give their life so that idiots like Michael Jackson can make millions and get away with horrific crimes against children. It's time to wake up and take this country back. We are headed down a terrible road. You bleeding heart liberals can kiss my redneck ass. I can guarantee you one thing...he ain't drinkin' "Jesus Juice" tonight. P.S. OJ ain't innocent either!
This poster has a slew of green dots. Hmmm..........how many red dots will he get for this post. I'd bet every nickel I have that he'll receive no red dots for this hate-filled racist post.
Personofbluecolor, what you must understand is that people are celebrating the entertainer and not necessarily the man. The entertainer did wonders for this country. No one ever said respect and homage should only be paid to soldiers. Everyone contributes to this great country in their own way. He definitely contributed. Keep in mind he also was acquitted on the charges of molestation. Don't preach constitution when you are not prepared to live by it.
Just like clockwork
