    Interview with Teresa Weatherspoon

Houston Roundball Review caught up with Coach Weatherspoon this weekend at a tournament at Cy Fair HS. They interviewed her for about four minutes, with questions ranging from the WNBA to being a head coach at her alma mater.

Some of the audio is bad, but it is a very good interview.

I just love the wink t-spoon gives at the very end!

    • she wanted to come back to tech because she felt it's where she grew as a person and she owed a lot to her university
    • her time back has been excellent
    • she has a greater respect for her past coaches, their hard work and what they went through to make her and her teammates better
    • ruston is her 2nd home. ny is her 3rd.
    • she might like coaching more than she did playing!!!?????!!!!!!! (wow!)
    • there's more talent in the game today than when she played. guards are better at what they do and can take it inside like posts while posts now have guard skills and every position on the floor can be a threat.
    • she likes hard workers more than anything. give her a player that works and she'll do the rest to make them a better player.
    • she still follows the wnba and has many friends still playing but the ny liberty will always be her heart
    • she feels the wnba should be marketed better and that people have a right to be worried by some of the things that happen in the front office but that because of the league's impact she doesn't think people around it (herself included) will let it fail
    • your child should come to tech because she'll do everything in her power to take care of them. she emphasized everything that's legally in her power. she said it's about being a student-athlete and the wins come when the players are successful in life. winning games is secondary to building people. (sounds a lot like leon)
