So to put this thread to rest you are saying that concealed permit holders have the right to carry guns because law abiding citizens never break the law... Is that a fair summation of your stance...?

One question is it possible for a criminal to have been a law abiding citizen before commiting a crime...?
Yes. Somebody always has to start their life of crime at a certain point. However, the Louisiana State Police will pull your permit in this state if you get arrested for DUI or the other litany of strict legal requirements.
Most thugs and career criminals start at a very young age, before they are near old enough to apply for a permit in the first place.
I never said they never do, I just said that overwhelmingly, they don't.
How many gun crimes did Louisiana permit holders commit last year? There were over 20,000 permits issued in this state last year alone (and you only get one issued every 4 years). Not to mention the out of state licenses that people have or use to travel about the state.
We're probably talking 80-100k people here. So what do you expect the rate of gun crimes these people committed to be? (think lower than average)
If you want to stop by Shreveport sometime, I'll take you shooting for free, just for being a good sport
The Joe Horn events don't apply to the debate. He was not convicted of a crime nor was he carrying a concealed weapon. Whether or not he acted inappropriately is a question, but it is unrelated to our discussion.
That, my friend, is a what-if which you declared you wouldn't address. If what-ifs are to be ignored when they are used to support an point, then they shouldn't be used on a rebuttal either.
This appears to be another hypothetical.
Again, I'm surprised at you. When offered the what-if reasons we support concealed carry, you demand concrete evidence. When we show you concrete evidence about concealed carry, you refuse to accept it. All the while, you refuse to show any concrete evidence contrary and you use what-ifs. Meanwhile, you really kind of skirt the issue as to when asked for a reason you feel the way you do.
Also, for what it's worth, a lack of evidence to prove something is not the same as disproving something.
