Obamacare provision: sending in gov agencies to parent kids

In sections 440 and 1904 (page 838), there is a section titled:

"Home visitation programs for families with young children and those expecting children"

The bill provides that well-trained and competant government agents would come into homes and advise parents how to parent. It is voluntary but will be aimed primarily at low-income areas.

    Thoughts?

Does this fall under insuring more americans? Reducing healthcare costs? Providing better healthcare?

I stopped reading at "competent government agents". This is another one of those "jobs created" that Obama totes around. It will add no value and be useless, all at the expense of the taxpayers.

All part of Obama's "preventive care" measures, which cannot be proven to be effective through hard numbers, they just "feel" right and Obama has hope that they will work.

You cannot make people care about parenting. And having government workers do it for them won't work either. Ask a teacher. It doesn't matter how much they encourage and work with a child... if the parent doesn't reinforce and follow the program. Look around. Bad behavior, skanky clothes, lack of respect and entitlement. There are a lot of people not parenting their children and it isn't only those below the low-income line.
