    Wal-mart

Yesterday I saw where Wal-mart is supporting this health care crap. I e-mailed them to verify their position and got my response saying it was so today. I will no longer be giving them my money. I would think this is a dangerous business decision- obama must have made it worth their trouble.

I wonder if the prices will roll up after the increased costs?

Not surprising. A lot of Wal-Mart employees are already on public healthcare plans anyway. This would probably force even more to go that route and less burden on Wal-Mart through insurance payments. However, they might end up getting their asses taxed off.

    I got it. It's clever.

Walmart gets most of it's products from overseas, where this legislation will not affect their purchasing price.

Competitors who use US manufactured goods will have higher costs due to the american manufacturers paying more for employees.

I have a feeling their was something in it for them. They were the whipping boys of the democrats for their stance on the union- haven't heard that lately. I will be interested to see if there is love fest with Wal-mart and the evil administration here now.

You're right on that. They keep a majority of their employees at less than full-time so they do not have to provide insurance and benefits. Further, they provide "counseling" to keep them earning under the food stamp & Medicaid line. Walmart is probably the biggest employer of the intentional working poor. Of course they support Obamacare. It's no skin off their nose and their employees think they are supporting their cause. The only cause Walmart supports is it's own bottomline.

That's right dawgmom. They do abuse the part time employment rules to get a leg up on competitors / make more money. They are pushing this because it will increase their profits.

Wow... I think you have something there. This combined with their intentional organization of people to remain poor gives them an advantage. Sneaky. Very sneaky.

Good catch Maddawg. They have really rolled out the ads lately for their pharmacy. $4 prescriptions and 90-day supplies for $10. I don't know the retail prices of drugs, but here's the blurb:
The list of eligible drugs in the $4 Prescriptions Program — available at Walmart, Neighborhood Market and Sam's Club pharmacies nationwide — represents up to 95 percent of the prescriptions written in the majority of therapeutic categories.
"represents up to 95%" So it could be 15% and still be truthful.

Why else would business exist ??

Well; if you are an egg sucking liberal, business exists merely to collect and remit taxes.

And provide jobs to workers they cannot fire without being hit with higher unemployment taxes.

I have no qualms with Walmart making a profit. My comments were re: their motivation for supporting Obamacare.
