I will shop at Whole Foods

Be sure you check out his plan- it is interesting as well. I do think this guy is brave because his clientel does tend to be more liberal. I love the store- wish we had one in Shreveport/Bossier.

Great store, but it costs you $100 per bag of groceries.

    A quote from the CEO

Many promoters of health-care reform believe that people have an intrinsic ethical right to health care—to equal access to doctors, medicines and hospitals. While all of us empathize with those who are sick, how can we say that all people have more of an intrinsic right to health care than they have to food or shelter?

Health care is a service that we all need, but just like food and shelter it is best provided through voluntary and mutually beneficial market exchanges. A careful reading of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution will not reveal any intrinsic right to health care, food or shelter. That's because there isn't any. This "right" has never existed in America.

“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”

One of the reason Whole Foods is so ridiculously expensive is because they provide good pay and benefits to their employees. This has to cause some conflict for the libs.

The CEO works for $1 a year, so they will certainly NOT be cutting his pay.

Man the quotes in that piece are hillarious!!!

"I will no longer be shopping at Whole Foods," Taylor told ABCNews.com. "I think a CEO should take care that if he speaks about politics, that his beliefs reflect at least the majority of his clients." LMAO, what about all the movie stars that have no real world/business experience?

"While Mackey is worried about health care and stimulus spending, he doesn't seem too worried about expensive wars and tax breaks for the wealthy and big businesses such as his own that contribute to the deficit" Last time I checked when big businesses, such as his, are what the economy is built on and what will get us out of the hole.

"You should know who butters your hearth-baked bread, John," wrote the commenter. "Last time I checked it wasn't the insurance industry conservatives who made you a millionaire a hundred times over." Give me a break, just because he sells you your over priced, gluten free, vegan, soy doesn't mean he agrees with your stance on health care, health food yes, bloated government health care no.

Wow, how tolerant of them. IMHO good for Whole Foods for looking to pay their employees a just wage.

FWIW, I am a HUGE fan of high deductible insurance policies with HSA's ... please tell me they are not trying to do anything to that setup. I bet it would be cheaper for the feds to tax credit $5500 to those not paying income taxes now for the start of an HSA AND pay their resulting monthly payments (below a reasonable cap) than what they are suggesting.

Net result, everyone insured on a plan of their choice. I mean if they are just talking ideas and not how to pay for it, this is a great way to go. The bill would only be 5 pages too.

Anyone using those plans would be subject to a fine from the federal government for not maintaining a minimum level of coverage. It is spelled out verbatim in the bill.

Because most libs complain about chain grocery stores not paying good wages or keeping the hours just below the requirements for earning benefits. Whole Foods has been a market leader for wages and benefits for this type of work.

So "progressive" is a synonym for "socialist", right?

It seems these liberal yuppies just want to ignore that the people who run their sacred Apple, Whole Foods, and Starbucks are actually economically conservative entrepreneurs. They may support saving the rainforest, but they know how not to suck at making money.

What a shocker that must be to the crunchy granola types to discover a business man runs their beloved store. It is a great store and I wish we had one. Whole Foods, Target and World Market are all on my regular "to do" list when I go home. It's funny because the crunchy granolas work there, but it's the boomers & yuppies that I see shopping there.
