I need some help with my laptop. I'm on my wife's laptop now. You know, laptop, as in a small computer.
On my laptop the keyboard characters got messed up. When I type some letters I get strange characters and numbers. This started last night just before I left for the MBB game so I didn't try to figure out what was wrong. I just put it down and left for the game. When I got back from the game my screen saver had started and it is password protected. I can't type my password correctly to get into my computer due to the keyboard issue.
Two questions:
1) How do I get around my password to get into my computer, and
2) How do I fix the keyboard problem once I get in?
Thanks for the help.
Looks like your "number lock" is activated. It probably is activated by holding down the "Fn" key and another key on the keyboard. Number pads on laptops are worthless unless they have a separate one like a full-sized keyboard. On most laptops they are integrated into the keyboard and take over the function of letter keys when activated.
Yeah, it's really simple once you KNOW the right keys. I could have researched the problem using my wife's computer but I know we have experts on BB&B who would save me the trouble. I'm thankful for BB&B and this is just one of the many reasons.
Coming to MBB game on Saturday, Doc?
Okay smart boy!
This ain't exactly urgent, but I lost a tool bar at some point between today and yesterday. I have no idea what I did. It is the one that included my back arrow, which was about the only thing I used on that tool bar.
