I find it curious that ultra-libs support the ACLU and its supposed defense of individuals' rights, and at the same time, support the building of a bigger and bigger centralized government, which is the only entity that can really spy on you and infringe on your personal rights.

Supporters of the ACLU should be Libertarians, shouldn't they?

I am also surprised that the City of Natchitoches continues to get taxpayer monies ($1.2 million annually from the state, plus use of local taxes) to put on the CHRISTmas Festival, with the no-apology, in-your-face, this is a Christian celebration!

Someone told me that an ACLU operative from Alexandria tried to stir the pot about 10 years ago, and it went nowhere. His complaints and threats to sue were all brushed aside.

How much longer will Natchitoches get away with this?

Actually, the Christmas festivals are not about Jesus Christ but rather homage to ancient Roman holidays. Religion has nothing to do with it.
