Not sure when this started. Did I just not notice it during my time from 2002-05 as a student? I don't remember missing more than a game or 2 during my college days. I don't like it either.

I don't remember it as a freshman in 2010...a few people did but it wasn't widespread like it is now.
Thanks, I wasn't sure if maybe I had experienced temporary deafness that was restored after I left campus.
I'll have to confirm with one of my children, but I believe they actually teach it with the "baby" during orientation now.

Agreed, I don't know if it was there before my time there, but I definitely remember it becoming prominent towards the end of my time (2000-2004).
