    Shreveport Eating Places

    Here are my faves:

Lunch: Biscotti's Bistro (located in Lewis gifts,Youree Drive)-Cuban Sammich
Italian: Chianti or L'Italiano (they're both equally as good IMO)- Veal
Mezzican: Tacomania-Papa Leo Combo or Chimichanga
Fine Dining: Wine Country Bistro-Low Country shrimp/grits/Andoullie Sausage
Steak: My back yard grill with a steak from Maxwell's Market:icon_wink:, Two Johns' Steakhouse/Bossier (TECH folks). CUB used to be good but has gone downhill IMO
Seafood: Don't trust ANY restaraunt in this town
BBQ: Jack's on N Market or Hickory Stick
    Bfast: Strawn's
    Offbeat: Albasha
    Sushi: hate it
    Pizza: Smitty's on Mansfield
    Japanese/Chinese: Lucky Palace
Worst Restaraunt In Shreveport: Zocolo (sp). This is the most ridiculous excuse for a restaraunt establishment I've ever had the displeasure of eating at in ANY town

Crawfish Tyme is owned by a friend of mine who is from a south La Vietnamese shrimping/fishing family and he has the best cooked crawfish in town. His real name is Vincent but he affectionately referred to as VC in town (he came-up with that himself). As far as Vietnamese food I'm not sure of a solely Vietnamese restaruant. Is Vietnamese like Cantonese?

Ah yes, Shreveport. Really not much of a resturant capital. I hardly eat there anymore.

    Drink at Superior.
    Breakfast at Strawns.

    Bout all I got.

Sorta, but a lot less fried foods. Vietnamese is sorta like Filipino/Thai. It's hard to describe. Lots of soups and rice dishes.

If you want to try Vietnamese but are not very venturous in trying the exotic stuff..."Pho" is a good start. It's a beef noodle soup with tons of fresh herbs (thai basil, mint, culantro).

Real VietNam food sucks (like in VietNam, I mean). They had a soup/stew called NucBom (bad spelling but close) that smells like someone puked up a skunk! Also the local favorite baloot, which is a fertilized hen's egg that is buried about six months, then dug up. It's just about formed into a chick but has turned into a pukey gel.

The monkey meat is really a treat also.

    Yum, yum!!!

Love me some Pho. It's not Ramen or Udon, but it'll eat.

Cotton Boll -- that place should be on Diners & Drive-Ins.

A true hole in the wall greasy spoon with SUPERIOR pie, chicken, & collard greens.

"Pho Paris" is the name I believe. It's pretty good. They have a limited menu, but everything I've had there has been very good.

They have "bubble tea" which is a huge craze overseas. It's a drink with tapioca balls at the bottom that you suck up with an over sized straw
