I like the band saying it. They are always rough and that is fine. Don't think it is a good stadium cheer, though.
Did some research it came from a 1978 Steve Martin's stand up act called "A Wild and Crazy Guy". He talks about being a cheerleader once and having to write a cheer. He made "Die You Gravy Sucking Pigs" and "Try to make a Touchdown, you scumbags".
From what I know the BOP have been saying that bit for a long long time in the Go Dawgs Go song. Prob over 20+ years.

dont really like that one either, not that im offended just dont find it funny. But thats just me.
The Hoop Troop is one of the best in the land! Their taunts and cheers are awesome. It makes it a more hostile place to play. I am not condoning it for crowd cheers, but they do a great job of making the TAC atmosphere a place other teams don't like to play. They are known for it. I say leave them be.
