    Gotta love dem bandwaggoners.

They really are. In a funny way, Saints success might be good for Tech. At the very least it takes some attention off the tigers.

Those who went to Tiger stadium saw that the obvious lack of excitement. I know many think, "we'll it is just a Tech game." I'm comparing the excitement to previous Tech games. The stadium was DEAD.

BEEN A SAINTS FAN SINCE BIRTH

    Going to games SINCE BIRTH

been there for the good and the bad was in the dome for the 1st playoff win and in the dome for a playoff heartbreak (Falcons)

If they are 0-16 or 16-0 I will always be a Saints fan

I know a TECH graduate who was never a football fan of any team for at least 30 years until he became an ardent lsu supporter during the Saban era. He is getting off that bandwagon right now and scrambling to find a place on the Saints bandwagon. I wonder if he'll ever be a TECH fan or if he'll return to ignoring football like he did the first 30 years I knew him.

    You would assume correctly -

We are fixing to find out if some of these newbies truly KNOW their Saints history

I still hold the unless one is in their mid 30's or older they truly have no IDEA what a long suffering Saints Fan is -

I'll give you that however I spent enough time at the Saints hall of fame as a kid to feel a little for ya. We late 20's guys no how hard it is...You guys just got a few more year of wear and tear...I salute you for that.

Before my time I guess Im only 28 But been going to games since I was 4. I remember Back in the Dome Patrol days (Rickey Jackson, Sam Mills, Pat Swilling)

and Mout Rush-No-More (Wayne Martin, Vaugh Johnson, Renaldo Turnble) as a kid though I liked to watch Toi Cook (DB)

When I was kid watching Those defenses and Bobby Hebert, Craig "Ironhead" Heyward, Dalton Hilliard, Ruben Mays, Eric Martin, Quinn Early and ofcourse Morten Anderson

    I LOVED IT

But that CRUSHING defeat in 1991 to falcons (damn Deion Sanders) after a huge 11-5 season was terrible for a 10 year old kid.

Been with em forever and will be with them forever.

    WHO DAT

I called my dad and asked about these 2 and he knew them said Galbreath was such an althlete he could do anything. Said one game the kicker got hurt and he came in and kicked the XPs for the team.

Dome patrol was awesome. I figure anyone who was there for the 5-0 year that ended 8-8 and at home during the play-offs more or less has the gist of what it has meant to be a Saints fan.

We went to a game during Lawrence Taylor's last season. Of course, his Giants beat my Saints, but it was a neat thing to see him play. That same trip we ran into Eric Martin at the Riverwalk. He shook my hand and I swear his hand was as long as my forearm and hand put together.

It's tough for a baby boomer to be a Saint's fan. My experience...

1967 – Age 8. Having been removed from Texas for only two years I was a Cowboys fan, but my only option was to watch the Saints win three games while Danny Abramowitz lead the team in TDs with six. Dallas was on the way to their second year of what would turn out to be 8 straight years of playoff appearances.

1968 – Age 9. Abramowitz and Kilmer light it up again for four victories while the Cowboys go 12-2 getting beat down by Jim Brown and the Browns.

1969 – Age 10. More Abramowitz and Kilmer for five victories. Cowboys get knocked out by Cleveland for the second year in a row. The “can they win the big one” talk starts and I’m REALLY hoping the Saints will come around in 1970.

1970 – Age 11. Tom Dempsey provided excitement and Abramowitz continued to be a great one, but the Kilmer guy is killing us! Only two wins. The Cowboys go to their first Superbowl. Although I still like the Saints, an eleven year old has got to make an “official” choice for his team. Guess which team I go with?

1971 – Age 12. Archie Manning! Saints win four! They are back on the rise @ 4-8-2. Cowboys go to second straight Superbowl and win this time.

1972 – Age 13. Saints go 2-11-1, but Archie shows potential. Down year for the Cowboys who only make it to the NFC championship game.

1973 – Age 14. I’m starting to become impressionable now. Saints go 5-9, but Archie is still throwing more interceptions than TDs. Cowboys have a REALLY off year when the get beat in playoffs by Minnesota.

1974 – Age 15. Saints go 5-9 again and Archie is REALLY stinking it up. Cowboys go 8-6 and miss playoffs for the first time in 8 years. I’m giving the Saints one more chance.

1975 – Age 16. Saints go 2-12. Archie throws TWENTY interceptions. Cowboys back in the Superbowl, but lose to Bradshaw and the Steelers.

1976 – Age 17. Saints go 4-10. Archie out all year with a bum shoulder. Cowboys go 11-3, but lose in the playoffs to Los Angeles.

1977 – Age 18. Saints go 3-11. They REALLY suck. Cowboys win 2nd Superbowl.

After 11 years of hanging on and trying REALLY hard to be a Saints fan too…I give up. They continue to be losers until 1979 when they go 8-8 to have their first non losing season. However they get back on track in 1980 with one win. After being “Bumed” out for several years Jim Mora comes on board in 1986 to make a football team out of the Saints. For a while…then it is back to the old Saints.
