“Towie Barclay of the Glen, Happy to the maids, But never to the men.”
Hey! It's kinda' like our football season: There's always second split and there's always next year!

They're here. People I talked to smacked 'em this morning in jones and mer rouge. Saw pictures to prove it too. Lots of green!
Just had it confirmed as well. Bradley is literally "eat up" with greenheads.

Reports I've been hearing are very poor. One good day last week, and after that -- NOTHING.

well, went to the lease today. I had permission to hunt saturday morning before we headed to Houston for the weekend. Before i totally commited i wanted to get a duck count . . .. .. aint hard to count to zero. Got standing beans, got another harvested crop, got quite a bit of water but, not one dang duck today . Can someone tell me the exact day that the wave of ducks will be coming through and sticking?
There was a buzz yesterday about lots of ducks in the Morehouse area. I didn't hear anything about hwy. 15 or Bosco. If you didn't see any I'm thinking hwy 15 may be slim.
We have had a super season so far in central Louisiana (on Louisian Delta Plantation in Jonesville, LA). mostly teal the first split with a few mallards and pintail mixed in. More mallards so far this second split.
I live about 5 miles from Bosco. The shooting has been slim round here. Live right across the river from a pretty good duck hole. I haven't heard them shoot much at all this year. In years past (like last year) I could stand on the banks of Boeuf and see between 50-75 woodies fly the river from 5:15 till dark. Stood out there yesterday and didn't see one. Not one. On a more positive note, Monday morning sounded like a war over in the Dave bayou swamp from my deer stand. It just perplexes me about the woodies. I have never seen a year like this were you are likely not to fire a shot on a wood duck in the evening.
