If we destroy SJSU, we have a shot at being #1.

Aillet = the real Death Valley, hah!
Don't know how they calculate those scores, but I'm guessing it's relative results of how the team performs home vs. road. We suck so bad on the road that ratio shoots up in favor of our homefield performance. That's my guess.
Still, any PR is good PR, so I'll take it.
Very weird list....when Florida is not near the top
“Many of you criticize what you cannot understand, too often you’re too quick to scorn the records of a man who made young men believe their sweat was not in vain and that rising to the top required sacrifice and pain and that no one could take away what was not given. He kept them focused on the prize and demanded they stay driven.......time has passed, some words forgotten, but his wisdom will always echo in our ears and our hearts, down to our very marrow”
If I were to guess, this is based off of how bad you are on road versus how good you are at home. So, in order to be at the top, you have to be very bad on the road. So, not exactly a list I want to be on top of.
Might also include how opponents perform at your place. Look at Boise anywhere else vs. Ruston. It doesn't matter what the records are they struggle when they come here. Do they struggle when they go to Idaho or New Mexico St?
Boise was #1 until they played Nevada at home. Tech has been #1 at 2 different times during the year. Bedlam shot OU way up the list. Florida and Cincinnati are 2 of 19 teams that play better on the road than at home. Remember Florida lost to Ole Miss in the Swamp last year.
2. Louisiana Tech
7. Southern Miss
10. Houston
11. Texas A&M
16. Hawaii
18. Nevada
26. LSU
28. New Mexico St.
30. Auburn
38. Utah St.
41. Boise St.
45. Tulane
60. San Jose St.
61. Army
63. LA-Lafayette
67. Navy
69. Mississippi St.
71. Fresno St.
73. Idaho
86. LA-Monroe
It makes sense if you look at our overall record at The Joe. And as has been stated, teams struggle here like nowhere else. Maybe it is because, historically, most teams we have played have to travel pretty far. The trip makes teams weary and they don't run on all cylinders.
Rice and Nevada laugh at that poll.
The WAC ranks #1 in both football and basketball in home field/court advantage.
