    Two things:

    1) The headline is poorly written........it makes it sound like Mulkey returned to Ruston, when the game was actually played in Waco.

    2) Kim Mulkey was VERY complimentary of T-Spoon and the Techster program.

“There was no sense of urgency,” Mulkey, a Tickfaw native, fumed afterward. “No understanding that Louisiana Tech is a very good basketball team — with a coach who is very intense — and they’re not going to quit. I thought we had some (veteran) players who coasted today.”

Good article and should put to rest any thoughts that Kim had her team "take it easy on us". We worked hard and really took it to them in the second half. Now, we just need to learn to do that in BOTH halves. I think we will! It has to start at WKU.

Not for a moment do I believe that Kim let up. Our ladies played very hard against a very good bb team. I also saw a lot of effort by the coach's to take away the advantages that Baylor had with some success. These ladies and the coach's have did a great job considering what they were up against. Now a loss is still a loss and nobody is happy with a loss but a loss is always motivation to get better. The Techsters are making significant progress and will be back in the hunt by the end of the season.

I've been trying to figure out what, if anything, it means that we play so much better in the second half. Obviously we are making excellent halftime adjustments, which reflects on the coaching. But what about the first half? One theory is that we are coming in with poor scouting reports/plans. What do you think?

I see that the Lady Techsters will be playing 2 games here in San Antonio this month. Unfortunately, I'll be in Georgia...

Not sure what it means. I know Spoon is pumping them up at halftime and I know Park has great game plans. Actually, in this game, I attribute it to our first time in front of a large hostile crowd, but it almost mirrored the lsu game - except we got 7 points closer at the end. Spoon keeps saying that they have to learn to play hard for the full 40 minutes. We have lapses at times and certainly play with more intensity in the second half. Maybe teams are throwing new things (not on film) on us and we make the adjustments? Good question...
