just because a ball hits the ground at a receiver's feet does not mean the qb has a weak arm. jenkins has overthrown just as many long balls has he has underthrown this year, and he doesn't have to put his whole body in it to get down field.
of course, i'm not saying jenkins has a strong arm. i'm just comparing him to a slightly weaker-armed quarterback that got the job done pretty well for us for a couple years and another slightly weaker-armed qb that does a very good job for another team. my point is you don't have to have a rocket for an arm to be a good qb.
Unless Doak blow the doors off this spring, DD will start RJ. I don't think it should all fall on Ross for our struggles this year either. Every game I see on TV, they talk about lineman giving the QB time and receivers who work back to the ball. We struggled with both for most of the year.
I thought the same thing. If Fitte had been covered well, a good DB could have had an easy pick. That "deep" ball was well underthrown. And I'm convinced that Jenkins thew that pass as far as he possibly could.
Jenkins' arm strength isn't even up for discussion. He has no arm strength.

what upset me the most is DD did not give Colby a chance to play this game. You can't grow a qb unless you give him some game time.
I admit I was harsh on Ross earlier this season, but as the season progressed, my opinion changed.
Many of us including myself just knew we had the worst QB in the FBS... until we played against Jarrett Lee.
Believe it or not, but Ross Jenkins ranks #39 in the nation in passing efficiency... better than 2/3 of the FBS including Jevan Snead, Jake Locker, Matt Barkley, Terrelle Pryor, Zac Robinson, Todd Reesing, Taylor Potts, Jeremiah Masoli, and the list goes on...
Ross only threw 5 interceptions this season! Excluding the service academies, only 6 teams threw fewer interceptions, and 2 of those 6 are undefeated!

Thanks for those stats!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since Fitte is half this thread, I'm not hijacking it, but . . . what about this: You think Fitte's grabbed Boo's #5 yet for the rest of his career? Noticed in the recruiting video that was his HS #.

Just keep kidding yourself, and you can look forward to another 4-8 season next year.
The fact that Ross finally "played better" after he and his team dug themselves a 3-6 hole is not exactly a testament to strong QB play. If we start a QB for 12 games, he's got to show up for the first 9 games as well as the last 3, when we're already out of the race.
