Couple of stories out of yesterday's game with San Jose State.

The seniors approached DD during the week and asked that the team wear Red jerseys against SJState. DD told them the team wears blue.
Seniors leave DD's office and DD calls equipment manager Jeff Springer and tells him to put out the red jerseys Saturday morning and don't tell the players a word about it so they'll see it when to arrive from their West Monroe hotel two hours prior to kickoff.

Another story . . . In postgame lockerroom, DD congratulates team on the record-making performances. He comes to Tank Calais and is 96-yard interception return. DD points out it's the longest interception return TD in Tech history. Not yardage, but how long he took him to run the 96 yards.

Sounds similar to the treatment I got in junior high football. I recovered a fumble and returned it roughly 70 yards for a score. When I got to the sideline, the head coach said, "Good job Leachman, you ate alot of clock."

I like the red, but only for special occasions. BLUE is still the best!
