Second, his number of drops are grossly overstated. Trust me, I have watched every single ball thrown his way throughout his career and the number of catchable balls he dropped can be counted on one hand. Conversely, the number of great receptions (which he makes look easy) are far more compelling than his drops.
Brian is right. He should've been utilized more often throughout his career. Now, there are a number of reasons he wasn't featured more often--he wasn't a good practice player early on, there were other capable players at his position all 4 years, we have been run-oriented, and we haven't had good passing quarterbacks. That said, the coaches made a mistake by not utililizing and emphasizing his talents to the degree they should have.
Bottom line, if you listen to Dennis, you'll realize he has no regrets. He never whined and he never quit--and he's a better man for it. I truly believe that one day very soon he will be a force in the NFL and he'll never falter in his support of his alma mater.
