McNeese received some EDA funding to build a business incubator on campus. SLU already has an incubator on their campus.
This Enterprise Campus takes the concept of a campus business incubator and broadens and expands it. This will open doors and present opportunities that will spur growth at both Tech and in Ruston. Congrats to those that have made it happen.
Just what we needed right now! Great job to those involved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lovin' me some Tech today. Lots of good news!
This Enterprise Park development is BIG, and I mean BIG!! We'll all look back in 5 - 10 yrs and won't believe our eyes. Puts the University directly in the sights of companies that are developing their businesses. Great place to serve as a repository for new technologies.
So let's run the numbers on the Enterprise Campus
$2 million grant for infrastructure (EDA)
$250,000 grant for planning (EDA)
$270,000 Funding Center for Economic Developement (3 years EDA)
$25 million appropriate to construct Tech Pointe and purchase land (State)
$10 million funds raised (private and federal)
So we are looking at around $37.5 MILLION for this project of which less than 1/3rd came from private funding! That's AWESOME!
This will have a dramatic impact on Ruston and Lincoln Parish. BTW, Ruston just received a grant to complete another I-20 exit near the Ruston/Grambling city limits.
once again or administration making strides during a time when the economy is down. This will be great for us when things turn back around. We will be working our way closer to the elite while others are floundering. Love it Love it! It is such a great feeling to see vision and forsight on the part of those running the show these days. Great job indeed!
Hopefully this is the long awaited Tarbutton/ Hwy 818 exit near Rabbs.

FYI, there are a couple of skidders, a timber shear and a bunch of highway barriers & road cones stashed on top of the hill where Tarbutton crosses I-20. Looks like they're about ready to start.
