He died this morning. Very, very sad.
5 arrests in 28 months! I'd say this guy lived a little on the wild side.
He was no saint but it did sound like he was finally doing what he needed to do to be a success on and off the field.
Agree with the folks below. He did have a rash of troubles, but it had been I think nearly 2 years since his last legal scuffles. He had worked hard to turn his life around.
Found a good article here: http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...show_article=1
I saw him play for Belle Chase against PBS in the dome. He was frightenly good on both O and D. He was a Miami commit at that point, put apparently even Miami has begun to have standards, something WV had thrown out the window. It is a shame he did not get control and let his talent work for him earlier.
PBS was scared to death to kick it him, so they squibbed all the KO's. One hit a BC up person and Brenton Burkhalter who was a freshman on the kick cover team dove through the air and out fought everyone for the loose ball. PBS scored on a double reverse flea flicker and the rout was on. BC scored 21 before that point and lost by at least 30.
Brenton Burkhalter used to live in Ruston. Pretty cool story
