Increase welfare. Extend jobless benefits. Opening jobs people don't want or are not qualified for. Only selecting certain "groups" to hire and telling others not to bother, and then still not hiring. Making statements that tell people they'll have their morrages paid, cars paid, houses paid, etc.

GM closing would have created more jobs than lost. Another company, rather it be a known or a new company, would have moved in and taken over everything and make it better. Increase in infrastructure, manufacturing, et al creates jobs. Not a stagnant company that makes crap for vehicles across the board.

That is why republicans' approval rating is in the teens. What else can the government do other than increase and extend welfare payments? Obama's job summit was met with fierce criticism from republcans as well. You don't want the president to extend welfare payments and you also don't want him to attempt to create new jobs. Yup, the pary of NO. NO ideas as well.

Total B.S. You are operating on what COULD OR MIGHT have happened. Americans don't give a damn about your theories or what could or might have happened. I'm not a Republican or Democrat. They both suck, I don't.

It is NOT the federal governments job to do that. Period. There's no argument, just isn't supposed to be done. And frankly, a lot of those people brought on themselves. A typical liberal thinks it is, but it's not. If you're so open to help your fellow man, open your hone, pocketbook, car, job, et al to them. Republicans typically give to charities and other places that actually work
and do that. Of course, I wouldn't expect a liberal to know that private entities are netter than government entities and should be the ones providing MODT relief.

Obama's job summit recieved criticism from both sides because it wasn't doing anything. You work undercthe assumption Bush scratched the back of Big Oil, but refuse to see the fact that Obama is scratching the back of unions, socialist, and others that HATE America.

No shit Sherlock. GM and all those other "too big to fail" places didn't help anyone but themselves- less than 3% of the population! Yet, they got all this money, and many STILL failed.
