My property taxes are high here too... Actually not much lower(if any) than my uncle is paying in Texas.
Yep property taxes are brutal (2.5 to 3.5 percent of property value) and state inspections and registrations on vehicles are much more expensive here (200 per car). 120 to get your car inspected??? I thought it was like 10 to 20 dollars in LA when I got them growing up. Has that changed?
It hasn't changed.
That is just for the Houston area. They charge us much less up in Dallas. Kind of a "nonelite" tax for the Houstonians.

How much is it? I thought inspections were for the state, therefore all the same.
May be more expensive if the other location in Texas does not require emissions inspection. But even that should only cost about $20.
