Well the healthcare bill passed in Senate

Bill passed in the Senate 60-40 right down party lines. Here is an article from dickmorris.com which explains how it will impact all of us. Like to hear comments from supporters on this.

A detailed analysis of the Obama health care program now before the Senate indicates that it will force big premium increases for all families especially for those under 30 years of age.
The study, by the consulting firm of Oliver Wyman, concludes that premiums for individuals will rise by $1,576 and $3,341 for families by under the bill. Young people will be hit the hardest. The study predicted that premiums for new health insurance policies purchased by the youngest third of the population would rise by 35% under the bill.

These increases will stem from the bill’s provisions that bar insurance companies from raising rates on sick people and from excluding people based on pre-existing conditions. Both of these mandates will mean higher costs for the younger and healthier population. This bill is, in effect, a tax on the young.
Nor will subsidies do much to mitigate the impact. To get a subsidy under the bill you have to earn less than about $80,000 a year (combined household income) and have spent between 2 and 10 percent of your income on premiums.
So a couple making a combined income of $40,000 would have to pay about 5% of their income: $2,000 before they could get subsidies. Those making $60,000 would have to pay about 8% of their income — $4800 - before they could get a subsidy. And those making $80,000 would have to chip in 10% of their income — $8,000 - before they would get a subsidy.

This reminds me of the mortgage crisis that almost killed our country (and still may). Everyone had the right to own a house and mortgage companies went bankrupt from defaulted payments and the housing bubble burst. Well, now everyone has the right to have health insurance. What happened to our Constitution?

This bill turns health underwriting upside down. Normally, the unhealthy and the older people pay a higher premium because they are more likely to go to the hospital or die. Now the healthy and the young will pay higher premiums to pay for the 30 Million people who were too risky to even offer health insurance to. I don't think that will be possible. Then the Socialists will say that this plan failed and we must have socialized medicine paid for by the government.

The only good thing is that this is not a Socialist takeover of health care, yet. Health insurance companies will have 30 Million new clients which is good for business.... until they start filing claims. Then they will need a bailout. IMO.

We should put pressure on Jindal and other LA repubs to craft some state-level opposition.

New Hampshire passed a law that says it's illegal to interfere with private health insurance. Montana also passed a constitutional amendment along those lines.

It is unconstitutional to require that US Citizens must purchase a product. This bill would lose in the Federal Courts. However, the problem is that it would take years to fight it and they will start setting up the system immediately... changing underwriting guidelines, taxing, hiring more employess, etc... and it will be too detrimental to the country to reverse.

Isn't it supposed to take effect in 2014? It'll give us a little time to fight this thing legally.

Yep, I think the provisions about taking more money out of our pockets and giving it to dead weight kicks in in about 10 days.

When the USSR collapsed (like all Socialist countries eventually do), all the states turned into nations. I can see that happening to America. It will no longer be the "United States of America", but the 50 nations of North America and each nation will have its own sovereignty. Was that ever the plan anyway?

This is what should outrage everyone and sink this healthcare nonsense and Democrats.

I heard the other day that the major health insurance companies are NOT subjected to anti-trust laws. If that is true, that needs to change immediately. Guiss, what do you know about this?

    Haven't heard this before.
