Does distance matter that much? We beat Houston and TCU on the road. Now we go to Idaho knowing we've beaten the two toughest teams in the WAC. I like our chances.

Most of our WAC brethren are looking for reasons to discount our quick start (alot still regard Nevada as the team to beat), but the travel is a valid point. It will be a challenge for Olu and Magnum to avoid early foul trouble in Moscow. Hopefully we can pick up a road win and the haters will have to look for a new reason we won't contend :icon_wink:

I think this is where our OOC schedule helps us -

With only 2 of the first 11 games at home we are accustomed to playing on the road - now granted we have not had a 13 hour road trip yet (which can't be compared to a 4-5 hour bus ride to Houston), but we are atleast accustomed to playing in hostile environs...

Did any of you catch the Babitt interiew after the NMSU game. He said we were clearly the team to beat in the WAC this year.

It is extremely difficult to win on the road! I'd love to sweep everybody, but I don't see that happening. We're probably gonna lose a few more games. The thing that worries me the most is DEPTH! Home teams play with more energy and the visitors seem to fatigue more easily. Fatigue often leads to more fouls... I do NOT want to rely on our bench to win games.

I hate to say it, but Nevada is still the team to beat at this point. They have the biggest road win.

Not sure anyone else noticed, but I saw Magnum back off a few times last night when the opponent had an easy shot under the bucket...normally he'd try to block it and get a foul called on him easy, but he was very patient and just gave them the easy hoop knowing his not being in foul trouble is much more valuable than a quick 2 points...hope this stays the same on the road...

I agree - their win at NMST is the best road win registered so far in the conference season...

What's the old system (2 pts for every road win, 1 pt for every home win, -2 for every home loss and -1 for every road loss)
