A good example of road woes in the Portland series. 50 point difference between home and away. Idaho there may be tough to win. I want to win 2 in Idaho but a split would let us keep even with Nevada in road wins.
Playing two games in Idaho over the next few days is also a good example of why I want us to be someplace other than the WAC. I want to go to this game but this is not a good road trip. If it were USM, SMU, Memphis, Rice, Houston, Tulsa, UAB, Tulane I would be there. I don't have that same opportunity in the WAC.
I looked at flying out Saturday and watching both Idaho games but the price is more than I am willing to spend. Decided to save the money for a trip to the bracketbuster game or the NCAA/NIT tournament game.
But they have a point. It isn't that we aren't (probably) better than Idaho, it's that the game is @ Idaho. As DFM loves to point out, every team is better at home and in this case we are traveling for basically a full day to get there.
I've probably seen posters on 3 different WAC boards say that winning at home and spliting your road games wins the WAC this season. And darn near every team thinks they can do it. Some of that is the typical homerism, but I really do think road wins are going to be at a premium in conference play.
Our advantage in this department (that is being ignored by our conference mates who only see our weak schedule) is that we've played and won on the road a lot this year. Our big disadvantage (that Hawaii has even worse) is our distance from every other team.
When this happened we had a huge lead. In a close game where the shot mattered Magnum would have attacked the ball. It seems he is playing much smarter basketball by not being in foul trouble at the end of games. Our whole team seems to be playing smarter. It must be the switch to staying at the Holiday Inn Express that is making the difference. :icon_wink:
Our football team's plane this past fall landed at Lewiston, Idaho, which is across the river from Clarkston, Washington, and about an hour south of Moscow (U of Idaho). And Washington State is in nearby Pullman, Wash., west of Moscow.
But . . . to answer your question . . .. they are the . . . . Warriors!

Idaho has been sort of streaky. They'll probably be up for their home conference games so this one could get away if we make too many mistakes or our shooting cools off.

Found out students are still on semester break at Idaho. Dorms open next Monday and classes starts next Wednesday.
My crystal ball says we beat ID by 12 and Boise by (4 OT). What do ya think?
