What's amazing is how the Lady Techsters dominated without a single participant in 6 of the 17 events... nobody in the 5k, 3k, 1 mile, 800 meter, weight throw, or pole vault... and we had sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers running our distance medley relay...

Dykes may want to look at Al Fullwood... He played He was named the Track Performer of the Year after winning the 200m with a time of 21.25 and the 400m with a time of 48.04. Fullwood was also a member of the WAC Champion 4x400m relay team, running the anchor leg... He played DB at Byrd and holds several records including INTs, fumble recoveries, and passes defended... His track eligibility should be done this spring, but I think he would have 1 year left of football eligibility...

With the start of the 2010 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships eight days away, Louisiana Tech's Antoinette Cobb is getting one final chance to attempt to make the NCAA field for the 60m hurdles. Cobb will be the lone Louisiana Tech athlete competing at Friday's LSU NCAA Qualifier Meet.

Louisiana Tech's Antoinette Cobb finished fourth with a 60m hurdles time of 8.61 at the LSU Last Chance Meet Friday evening at the Carl Maddox Field House in Baton Rouge. Currently ranked 19th in the country, Cobb will wait to see if qualifies for the NCAA Championships.

Louisiana Tech's Antoinette Cobb closed out her indoor collegiate career in a heartbreaking way after missing the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 60m hurdles qualifying list by one-hundredth of a second (0.01). The list of competitors for the championships, announced by the NCAA office this week, set the cut off right before Cobb's provisionally qualifying mark of 8.28. Cobb finishes the year ranked 21st in the nation in the 60m hurdles.

Albert Fullwood got his picture at the top of the page in the "Faces In The Crowd" in the March 15 issue. The article says he won the 200, 400, and anchored the winning 4x400 relay at the WAC indoor championships and was named the performer of the year for the indoor season. Great job, Albert!
I wonder what kind of hands Albert has.

Louisiana Tech's Albert Fullwood was recognized in a national publication this week as Sports Illustrated listed him among the "Faces in the Crowd" in their most recent issue. Fullwood was recognized after winning three conference titles at the WAC Indoor Championships and being named the WAC Track Performer of the Year.

Louisiana Tech's track and field program hosts the 2010 Jim Mize Invitational Saturday at the Jim Mize Track and Field Complex on Louisiana Tech's campus. The annual meet hosted by Tech is one of two track and field meets in Ruston this year as Tech will also host the 2010 Western Athletic Conference Championships.

Didja know there was no pole vaulting . . . we don't have a vaulting pit yet. . .. or vaulters. The pit will be ready before the WAC meet in May, however.
Other than that, it was good to see our Tech teams compete at our renovated track.
AND, it's always great to see Coach Mize.
