    Colt McCoy vs. Tim Tebow

Observe the reactions of both of these boys after being defeated by Alabama.

Tim Tebow cries like a little boy because he is disappointed. He's won a Heisman Trophy and two National Championships, but he's disappointed and the tears flow.

Colt McCoy wins no Heisman, no NC's, is injured on the second series of play in the NC and is unable to return to the biggest game of his life because he can't feel his own arm. That's disappointment. And yet this young MAN is able to speak without breaking down afterwards, doesn't weep, gives credit to Alabama, gives credit to his freshman replacement, to his team, doesn't question why. This is one classy young MAN who gives sportsmanship the spirit it should always have!

I was pulling for Alabama (because LSU hates Saban) but I am a huge Colt McCoy fan today.

we all handle adversity and disappointment differently. colt almost broke down during his post-game interview, but he composed himself and handled himself like the classy individual that he is. i, however, don't look down upon tim tebow for his reaction. i don't believe that it's wrong for a grown man to cry.

I have enjoyed watching Colt during the last four years in Austin and look forward to seeing him play on Sundays in years to come!

Re: Colt McCoy vs. Tim Tebow

I think Colt does a bit better job of reading a defense and seems to have a bit quicker release, but I don't have specific examples or a stopwatch to prove it. While Tim has played significantly better defenses, I think he's also been rewarded with much better receivers.

I wonder if people in Texas have the same messiahship love affair with Colt as people around here do with Tebow?

    +1 Colt is a man's man.

In his defense, whoever asks Colt that question on national tv after the game is an asshole. You reporters are always just trying to stir the pot.

FWIW, I thought the play was a bad idea to begin with. Before he even got up, I said to the people I was with that running that play would get Colt hurt.

Not as stupid as that shuttle pass right before halftime that a 300 pound D-lineman intercepted and returned for a TD. Even if the Texas RB had caught it he would have been immediately tackled for minimal gain. That was the bonehead call of the year to not either wing it downfield or just run the clock out.

That's unrelated to Colt vs Tim, but I absolutely agree. If you're going to run a play there, you have to throw it deep.

I have always like the kid and pulled for Texas because of him, but after that interview...his stock doubled in my eyes. Gave credit to Bama twice in a very emotional interview.

Both are classy guys. Colt showed composure and, in the second half, was encouraging his team mates. Tebow did that, as well, he just broke down in an emotional moment. Colt is a little tougher emotionally - Tebow is a little naive and child like. They are both awesome players and have great sportsmanlike conduct off the field. I don't know which is better - hard to evaluate giving that they didn't play against each other, diferrent teams as support, etc.... Both are good guys, though.

I think you answered your own question.
