If they got the time (to go with their money) an investment in Chris Peterson to rebuild the program is not out of the question.
However, nothing will change until the wayward boo$ter$ get out of the program's way.

I told you Oregon St. like Riley. A 3 year extention.
Answer to the original question: Hopefully, down to mediocrity, just like the Tiggers of the Purple and Puke.
USC will be fine, but the first guy to follow him up will be sacrificed to appease the NCAA. Petersen does NOT want to take this job. Let them throw it at somebody like Erikson (would NEVER happen) and let him be the place holder until whatever sanctions that are eventually levied are expired.

USC has a very tough task. It is remarkable what Pete was able to do at USC. It shouldn't be because of what they offer. He had a stretch where he had only 9 losses over a 7 year period.
Pete took over USC as a 5-7 team. A team that won 2 Pac 10 games. And lost no more than 3 conference games a year until his last year (where he started a true freshman QB). Pretty good for a guy who was USC's 4th choice as a head coach. I'm no USC fan but you have to respect what the guy did. He rebuilt a national power.
