    I would not put too much stock in that. They are local and therefore easy to interview. If they put their hat into the ring, then yes, you go ahead and interview and turn to the out of town candidates.

    Interesting that DeForest's name is still popping up and no one has talked about him at all. Also, that Nix is mentioned for the first time as well, "officially".

    Did anyone see Phillips yesterday?

    Spangler was my son's head coach for three years at PC. The is not a more driven, hard working, honest, players coach, sincere, appreciated, knows how to win kind of guy than Coach Tommy Spangler!

    Don't screw it up and lose him...he is perfect for La Tech.

    I agree with your assessment of Coach Spangler. He is well respected by his players and would be a great hire for the head coaching job at Tech.

    I would not be unhappy with the hire.

    However, I've always been a believer of external hires for head coaches.
