Best of luck, Coach Scelfo. Thanks for seeing this recruiting class through.

Good old Memorial Gym
I kinda wanted to see Frank stay on as our QB coach. I think his resumee shows that he is good in that role (which definately helps his recruiting ability) and he is genuinely a good guy. However, if this frees up the cash to get good assistants around the board, then so be it! Good luck Frank1 Hope it feels good in AZ to have the handcuffs off of you!
Good luck Frank!
Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”
I'm not sure exactly how this happened, but it sounds as if SD helped Scelfo get on at AZ. Good on SD and as others have said, coaching changes are not necessarily a zero sum game - this really does sound like a "win-win" proposition.
According to Rivals:
I guess they just had to leave Conroy on there.......or is he back?
- Sonny Dykes - Head Coach
- Frank Scelfo - Offensive Coordinator
- Tommy Spangler - Defensive Coordinator
- Chino Fontenette - Running Backs Coach
- Conroy Hines - Wide Receivers Coach
- Dave Borbely - Offensive Line Coach
- Pete Perot - Offensive Line Coach
- Stan Eggen - Linebacker Coach
With SD on the staff now, you have to imagine that he is going to run the offensive side of the ball. Having Coach Scelfo there would not be useful for either of them. I am glad that he is now here in Tucson, at the U of A as the qb coach as the qb here has a lot of promise to his future and having a good coach like Coach Scelfo will only help him.
It is ironic that Tech has "switched" coaches...
Let's build and move forward!
Coach Scelfo is a "Class Act person"..Best of Luck for him....
I'm glad Frank and Derek are both gone.
I also recall reading on another thread a couple of weeks ago a statement that our special teams coach was gone and I don't recall seeing that refuted later in the thread so I assumed it had legs - I also don't see his name on this list, yet he was at the signing day luncheon. Anybody know his status?
Oh, and P.S. - DAMMIT! Scelfo's move just cost our high school it's QB.
I would have like to see what He could have done working with Dykes instead of Dooley. Hell, I would love to see what Conroy and Dykes could dream up. They have seen it all. But most of all, I would love to see Tim R and Dykes drawing up plays.
Hope they have a good "Game Manager" at QB
