The LDWF is probably trying to make a little extra cash for some department. I have a problem with speedtraps and checkpoints when they are being done as a way to increase revenue. But that's not a story for here. Ross made a mistake. Luckily, nobody got hurt. He's in college. He did something most college kids do or have done. He'll be punished by the legal system. As for his status on the football team, I would expect him to have to pay for his crime in sweat. I don't think he should be suspended or kicked off the team if this was an isolated incident.

The police are out everywhere. I've never seen so much "traffic control" in my 35 years of driving.

If not, there was a guy arrested on suspicion of DUI that bears a strong resemblence to and has the same name as our starting qb.

Bolded. Do you mean they weren't doing it to increase revenue or that the underlying story is more important?

I could care less which Law Enforcement Agency stopped him - he broke the law and got caught. They didn't give him a DUI - Ross made a CHOICE to drink & drive and unfortunately HE is reaping what he sowed. The important thing for Ross and the rest of his teammates is to not laugh this off as some stupid mistake but to understand how serious of an offense this is and to learn from it and make all of them better people. If they choose to drink (which a lot of college students and young people are going to do), then by all means have some people with you that are designated drivers.
