    Scheduling is hard

Great interview on non-conference scheduling with an AQ conference AAD.
    http://arizonastate.scout.com/2/944834.html

Most of the trends seem to favor the "little guys" like Tech.

    1. non-AQ teams demanding home-and-homes. Best. Scheduling. Trend. Ever.

    2. Higher demands for one-and-done payouts. The LSUs and Floridas and Alabamas can just keeping forking over whatever is asked because they still come out ahead with a home game. In the Pac-10 or the lower levels of AQ conferences? Not so much.

    3. FCS games. This seems to be a mixed bag. On one hand, if an AQ school can play an FCS game per year, then that removes some demand (and therefore some power) from the non-AQ schools that would normally fill that home slot. On the other hand, the non-AQ schools are playing an FCS game per year, too. So it kind of balances out because there are fewer openings on our schdules.

He basically says, "look, you need to get used to the idea that we can't just buy 3 (insert 4 or 5 for other conferences) OOC home games every year anymore. We will be traveling to teams that you think should be below us. Deal with it."

And I like that very much.

It also shows just how much you're up against in the scheduling business. All off-season we'll have threads about how we need to be playing X, Y, or Z school and when we should play them and for how long and for how much money. There will be plenty of "just get it done" type comments.

    But it isn't that easy.

If an ASU has such a hard time, then imagine our position. We can't offer much in the way of pay-outs, every AQ school considers themselves too good to give us a home game (whether this is true or not), and we have to work around our brutal WAC travel.

I would like to see us get Huston and/or SMU on our schedule.

Houston is on our schedule, SMU was booked through like 2015 or something when Dooley was doing the serious scheduling.

She was pretty good in the Adams Family, but I don't think Huston plays football.

Almost dodn't graduate cus I flunked spelling and typing so often.

Houston, SMU, Miss. State and USM will bring thousands of increased attendance to home games and will help with CUSA if that is what we want to do. Assuming we can be competitive against them!!!

Big fan of the Diane Lane All-Stars, huh? You'll have to scroll down, and you may be more into a Betty White All-Star team anyway.

Why is it that women with accents retain a level of hotness that American women can't match?

    YES! Dude is spot-on!

Yup. I think that if Charlize Theron had not adopted an American accent that her hotness would have exceeded that which mortals can endure.

She doesn't need the accent. If she kept it anything with her image would instantly catch fire.
