Louisiana Tech University
Flagship of the University of Louisiana System
I could see LSU normally being a distraction from one of our games but they are only playing UNC. I'm not saying UNC isn't a good team but they aren't a Virgina Tech, Miami, or Florida State that is gonna draw a lot of attention.

Because Grambling's band will be limited to just playing during timeouts and first downs...I just don't see fair-weather Grambling fans coming out.
It's Grambling, a good portion of their fanbase come out to just hear/watch the band than football.[/quote]
WHAT??? NO BAND???
If GSU's band doesn't play, I am not going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this true? Why wouldn't they play, they are the HOME team
The Shreveport black community does not support anything. They'll buy shirts and hats and claim to be big fans but they just don't put butts in the seats. The last time I saw them turn out in significant numbers was for the Ali-Frazier fight that was shown on a ten foot screen (with a two foot picture) in the Hirsch. You may pick up a few because its Grambling but not in big numbers. Not to say that Grambling won't have their fans at the ball game, they just won't be from Shreveport.
People will show up to watch the GSU band.
It's all about the halftime show - not the stand music.
They showed up for the MBB game last year, I think we see a big crowd.
Their band blows.
The crowd will be 60% Grambling fans. Then everyone will leave the game before it's over to go to Koko's Palace.
Now hold on a minute.
GSU's style may be a bit rough around the edges, but their band is one of the best in the country at what they do.
In fact, you can't even compare a band like Tech to Grambling. They are so radically different in musical and stylistic approach. Neither one is harder or better, but they are completely different animals.
