Here's why Obama has a shot at winning in 2012. This is actually not far from what it's like across this country and especially in the large metros. And these folks vote for goodness sakes!!! Like a true politician, Bush exploited a looophole in our broken system. You don't nee to have the most votes, never have. Just need to win the most electoral college votes.

The way to fix the electoral college is to follow the plan already used in Nebraska and Maine...one electoral vote for winning each Congressional district plus two for winning a state overall.

A vote in California shouldn't be worth more than 18 times more than a vote in Wyoming.

Using the 2008 state results with the 2012 electoral college breakdown, if the Republicans hold all states McCain won in 2008 only Florida, Indiana, Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia would need to flip to Republican to reverse the overall result. Several of those six states are already in the likely to flip category.
