Conference USA and the Mountain West are not generally considered mid-majors in basketball. They fall above the "red line."

That's funny. On another thread a lot of folks on here are telling us that Texas is considering jumping to the Big Ten. If so, the Longhorns will INCREASE their travel expenses, destroy some regional rivalries, and make it much more difficult fo their fan base to be within a reasonable driving distance.
So, exactly which college football consultant gave you the above advice anyway?

I agree with Conference USA, however, as the WAC is now configured, we have benefited from additional revenue that has more than offset travel expenses. Clearly, if conference revenue drops then the WAC membership becomes an economic nightmare.
Conference USA has some pretty distance schools, but, at least, has several close ones.
Posted full numbers in Recruiting, but....

You are right. We've seen Kelly Self, Bill Gracey, and Ronnie Hernandez many times in Ruston over the years and also on the road. Gracey and Hernandez primarily work in the Western part of the U.S. Kelly Self is more of a nationwide referee. He does games all over the country but the majority are in the middle U.S. - Big 12 & MVC.
You generally get a consistently called game when Kelly Self is on the crew. Bill Gracey and Ronnie Hernandez make more mistakes than many refs. Having Kelly Self on the crew seems to help the other refs be more consistent. He appears to be a good teacher.
Not debatable? 967 was right, and then you proved him right. Hawaii is close to AF, Boise is close to Wyoming, Fresno is close to TCU (and above them), Idaho is pretty close to Utah, SJSU is close to CSU. If you go team by team, their teams tend to be above ours (Fresno/TCU as the exception) but it isn't like we're talking miles and miles. 10 points in rpi is nothing.
Ronnie Hernandez is a moron!
Boise Won't get picked up by a BCS conference because of their academics.
They are similar to MTSU in academics. The PAC 10 has GREAT academics at all of their institutions.

I've thought the same thing many times but I didn't want to put it that way on a message board.
Hernandez is really inconsistent and misses quite a few calls. You never know what kind of game you will get when he is on the floor. Fortunately, he was with one of the better refs in our game at Northeastern.
