Thumbs Up Do this for Navy

Guys, we need to do this (something similar) prior to our game with Navy. Watch the short clip below.

Now this is a real class act!!!

It has been said that some people take their football and the fighting for their alma mater way too serious in the "big" picture of life, a game should be a game, with good sports, no hard feelings and being an adult. This was sent to me by a friend, and sort of points that out.

Just prior to the start of the Air Force-BYU football game, Sept. 22, 2009, this video was broadcast in the BYU stadium in Provo, Utah. Later, the USAF Academy Superintendent, LtGen Gould, showed this clip to the faculty and staff. He told everyone that BYU ran it minutes before the kickoff at the game. He was clearly moved by it, as were those who watched it. BYU is a class act.

    BYU VS. AIR FORCE

I sent this video to BVD a couple of weeks ago, he responded immediately and has forwarded to our marketing department. I think we can make a first class video using Navy footage and create a very cool THANK YOU.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!

    Let's do it!!

As the son of a retired Navy man, I learned "Anchors Aweigh" even before I learned the Tech fight song growing up in Ruston. Gonna be an emotional game for me. We need to show Navy what an incredibly classy, appreciative fandom we are in every way possible even as THE DAWGS WIN THE GAME!!

It's such an honor to have Navy at JAS.

The band needs to play "Anchor's Aweigh" when they come on the field.

It's a simple tune, and the Midshipmen learned our fight song for the game last year. We should return the favor.

I hope they include the Marine Corps in this planned tribute. Many of the Naval Academy grads will become Marine Corps Officers.

In 1944, Tech's football team was almost entirely composed of U.S. Navy & Marines who were here as part of an officer training program. Have to tie that in some way.

I think we should really do like LSU and do a tribute to the armed forces during half time of the homecoming game every year. You really can't thank our military personnel enough for their sacrifices.

We have done this every year. Its not the homecoming game, but the BOP does a armed forces tribute show every year.

Excellent! I hoped that posting this would draw some good attention and wouldn't be frowned upon. Sounds like they were headed in that direction already.
