actually, it should be dykes's. but you are right -- it should be fixed.
Well, it is one or the other based on how it is spoken, and while I would probably say it as "Dykes' contract" (and thus write it as such) rather than "Dykes's contract", either is acceptable gramatically.
You do have to pick up the value of the perk as income for tax purposes, but paying tax on $5,000 in dues is much better than spending $5,000 in after tax dollars to be in a country club.
I don't think that Tech pays Squire Creek for the memberships. Just another perk that Davison throws in. And most of the coaches have "memberships" out there.
I sure would have liked to seen a provision in the contract that whomever hired him away would have to come play us in the Joe within a certain number of years.
That is a hell of an idea! Can you imagine Tennessee having to coming to JAS with no return trip for us?

i'm sure they still have to pay taxes on it if it is part of their official compensation package.
I'm not an attorney, but I don't think that one would work in a contract.
The WKU b-ball coach that went to Georgia a few years back had something like that didn't he? Felton?
It would get bought out for football, but then you still get some extra buy-out money that way. I guess the trick is getting a coach (or his agent) to agree to it.

Maybe so, but I don't see how you can hold a party to an agreement that he has no control over. You'd be making an agreement with an unknown third party.

Contract law guys should know.
This is (one reason) why it would work better in basketball. I think typically b-ball coaches have more control over their schedules.

that's what happens, but it is still income to the coach who gets its.
