You may have thoughts related to seeding. Win and get the #3 seed, lose and we are the #4 seed so we would have a different, likely more favorable, route to get the tournament win.

We need to put ourselves in the best possible situation to win the tournament. Resting the starters Saturday night in Nevada may be a good idea. However, I hate losing. Win the game and let's take it one game at a time from there.

Why is it that we are the ONLY TEAM IN THE NATION saying this stuff?

Just because our team isn't playing worth a crap, it doesn't mean we're "worn out".

I saw a stat the other day that indicated that the average min played by our players is not that out of line from other teams in the WAC. For instance, here's where the average min played for some of the WAC's leading scorers stand:

    Luke Babbit - Nevada - 36.8 MPG
    Adrian Oliver - SJSU - 36.3 MPG
Kyle Gibson - LA Tech - 35.2 MPG
    Jahmar Young - NMSU - 34.7 MPG

The point is, Gibson's minutes per game average is right in line with the other top players in the WAC. So some of you need to quit excuse mongering for the team.

I can't put my hands on it right now, but I saw a stat the other day that indicated that the average min played by our players is not that out of line from others at all. Some of you need to quit excuse mongering for them.

I'm just saying do we need to sit down and fix something. I don't know how much there is to win on this game tonight. Every win helps, but we are obviously not playing well. Gibson or no Gibson we have to be able to make shots, and that is not happening.

I don't know what it is either, but it is frustrating for all of us I know.

So the excuse of tired legs needs to be forgotten. It is interesting to see that Utah State gets more bench minutes than anyone in the conference though.

Utah State doesn't have a dominant player. They have 10-12 good players. Therefore any situation we can use to match starters vs starters on them, the more likely we are to beat them.

Great info. Thanks Juice. I went back and added the updated MPG averages for the WAC's top 4 scorers. But your stats give a great overall look at what I'm stalking about.

    Thanks for posting it!

I totally agree with HogDawg....... No excuses of tired legs. We just have to go back to the drawing board and play our game. We will stay in Reno - I am guessing - until the tournament, which is an advantage of not flying anyway. Just need to get adjusted there and start over. Everyone of us has seen us play great this year, so there is no excuse for us not to do that and take the tournament - NO excuse!

I don't support the tired legs theory as anywhere near the top of the list of issues to "blame". Other theories should be considered.

Here's just one of my many opinions: Our depth has been an issue because the coach doesn't have many options as substitutes for players who are not following the gameplan. He has to play starters even if they are not playing smart basketball, and he doesn't have enough timeouts to constantly correct problems.

We need to go to lost and found.

    Lost: Mental game.

With few exceptions, teams seem to play their best in the tournament. We lost the mental game and we need it back to have a chance to win. Perhaps the prize of the NCAA tournament will be the key to finding it.

Maybe...... But, at this point in the season, there is no excuse for not following the game plan. Not saying it doesn't happen - in fact, I KNOW it happens.

KG is a game changer. We need him back and I think we will be noisier than most people think in the tournament.
