Which brings up a question, how are SWAC schools considered Football Championship Subdivision when they don't participate in the Championship playoffs?
Ivy league doesn't either I think.
It is in name only that they are members of the FCS. They have their own championship game.
They play in a subdivision where the champion is determined by having a playoff. Both conferences have removed themselves from having a member win that playoff, but it's by their choice. Either conference could compete if they wanted to (in theory anyway, but I don't think either conference would have much chance at winning one at this point).
