for my SLEEPER. We have a walk-on SOPH LB from Byrd HS named Scotty Dickson who, at 230, made some noise on special teams last fall. I watched him in high school & he is another HITTING MACHINE who has a real nose for the football. Scotty is a guy who I think will EARN a scholarship before he's done & he is really FUN to watch.

Gotta echo your comments about Dickson. I watched Byrd play during his senior year and Scotty outshined that linebacker who signed with A&M. Dickson was all over the field and has a tremendous instincts on getting to the ball-carrier. He was a DE and NOBODY could block him.

Fletch and I talked about this kid at a Byrd game 2 years ago, he could not believe he was not getting any attention.

He's plenty big for a linebacker. I know he has the motor--just not sure if he has the wheels.

Agreed, but I was talking about DL. The kid is a stud no doubt.

Glad to see it didn't take long to move Andre Taylor to defense. With his speed and size he could turn out to be a great pass rusher at DE.

recurring hip injury which just would not get better. I think Scotty would have been a great special teams guy for us & sad that he is gone.

Totally agree. He missed both practices and I found out about the injury after I posted that. Too bad because you are right coach....he would have lit some folks up on special teams and defense!
