    Best play of SMiss game?

I'm having a hard time deciding. I really liked Bartlett's steal just before the half to tie it up after we struggled early. I could tell from the look on his face that he was going to steal the ball.

I also really liked Olu's beast-mode dunk right up the middle.

Which do y'all think was better?

Also, is there a ranking of steals per minute that we can compare?

Oliverson's first half block fired up the crowd and should also be on the list.

I'm with you. I was shocked to see Oliverson go up and block that shot WITH AUTHORITY! He had two blocked shots for the game in ~12 minutes of play.

That being said, I don't think there was a 'best' play of the game. There were several great ones to choose from.

I think Oliverson's block was the play of the game and here is why. Before that block we had no interior defense. USM was hitting almost every shot they took because they knew without Magnum we were leaving the low post open. After that block, USM got more timid in attacking the paint. Looking at the box score, the only reason we won is because we outscored them in the paint. Because of that we shot 56% compared to their 36%.

Don't know where that stat would be but.......

    STEALS Cl GP No. Avg/G
    1. Anderson, La'Shard-BSU JR 32 83 2.6
    2. George, Paul-FS SO 29 64 2.2
    3. Shepp, Steven-FS SO 32 55 1.7
    4. Thomas, Anthony-BSU SR 32 52 1.6
    5. Guyton, Jamel-LTU SR 34 55 1.6
    6. Graham, Justin-SJSU JR 31 45 1.5
    7. Gibson, Jonathan-NMSU SR 33 45 1.4
    Laroche, Hernst-NMSU SO 33 45 1.4
    9. Johnson, Steffan-UI SR 31 36 1.2
    10. Quayle, Jared-USU SR 34 38 1.1
    11. Thompson, Hiram-UH JR 29 32 1.1
    12. Hopson, Mac-UI SR 30 32 1.1
    13. Babbitt, Luke-NEV SO 33 34 1.0
    Seay, Sylvester-FS SR 33 34 1.0
    15. Fields, Brandon-NEV SR 33 33 1.0
    Bartlett, Anson-LTU SO 28 28 1.0

I recognize ever name on this list and there is no way that any of them play as few minutes as Anson does, so I think it goes without saying that he is probably in the top 2 or 3 in the WAC in steals per minutes.

The boy has a gift. Even if he didn't get credit for the steal to end the half, he created it.

The Oliverson SWAT was spectacular, as good as you'll ever see, such AUTHORITY and ATTITUDE, and the energy level of the team instantly skyrocketed. In this game, it was definitely the "most valuable play."

Shows how good a game it was and how much us fans in attendance enjoyed it that we're having this discussion. The game was a very positive event for the fans and team alike. Very pleased I went.

I was telling several people including HoDo and maddawg at the game that this was the play of the game.

At the time of the block it was 20 - 9. Over the next 2 minutes, we got an 8 - 2 run and made it 22 - 17. In the 5 minutes after the block, the run was 12 - 4 and the lead was cut to 3 (24 - 21).

The Coaches (all involved with the decision) get a HUGE round of applause for the susbtitutions with about 8 seconds left in the half. He sat down Jamel and DeAndre and put in Bartlett and Hall. I told HoDo that these were our "steal" men... and surely enough, they did it!! (Bartlett's tough Defense made the pass hard which Hall picked up and laid in at the buzzer.

FANTASTIC GAME DAWGS!! HOW 'BOUT THEM DAWGS!!!

I think he was still pi$$ed about not being able to handle that easy dish, to him under the basket, just secs before. Loved his reject! Olu's running one hand dunk was amazing!!!
