Since we don't have any teams left in the hunt, I'm ready for the season to be over so we can see what happens in recruting. Of course I'm ready for football seanson as well.

We have to decide do we want to win or do we want to have true freshmen on the team! We will not have both, we don't garner that type of talent at this point. We have to go the unconventional way of JUCO because we need players that can come in and contribute from day one and be impact players and we will not get that with High School freshmen.
We are a year or two away from having that luxury. T-Spoon knows exactly what she is doing and I can clearly see her vision on this and love what she is building.
I echo your statements. There is nothing wrong with getting a couple of JUCO players if they can contribute right away and that seems to be the type of talent that T-Spoon is going after. She's not going after players that will fall under pressure or through the cracks.
Also, look at some of those programs the JUCOs selected LA Tech over. A lot of the girls selected LA Tech over ST. John's which is an up and coming program and the team LA Tech would have faced in the NCAA second round if we had beaten Florida State. Also, Temple was another option for Smith I believe and Temple made the NCAA second round vs UCONN.
GO T-SPOON!
what is going on with our recruiting? we are still losing all these Louisiana girls to LSU and there coach sucks. Is Spoon working on any high school prospects. Middle Tennessee is raking in the big girls as well.
We aren't doing anything. We decided not to recruit this year. :icon_wink:
Seriously, not everything is advertised. I think we will all be pleased.
You may be right. Pat is even faltering lately and she has all the talent she could ever need. The problem I have with Van Chancellor is that he never showed me much when he was at Mississippi. Maybe it was talent level, but he seemed to take a tremendous jump when he went to the WNBA and had 5 starters that were the very best in the sport at the time. It seemed it was the players that did it, though. He got out coached many times by teams with less talent. I think we are seeing that now with him at lsu. They are taking a hit in talent little by little now, so I don't think he can keep the lady tiggers top 25 for very much longer. He was definitely outcoached by Spoon this last year. They barely won and had a lot more talent on the court.
I just don't know if he was ever a "great" coach - maybe a good one, but not great.
or you serious about us not doing any other recruiting?
I know we have the 3 gals from Indian rivers coming in and Anderson back next year but this gal from NC (Broo) sounds like quite a talent, the kind of gal you wouldn't won't to be playing against!
Besides never heard anyone say what position she played on the court as well.. is she a point guard?m
Maybe someone should tell the coaching staff at Baylor that they are doing it all wrong. Baylor had three freshmen on a final four team. It all depends on who the freshmen are. I am still wondering if a JUCO in Florida has three players that can come in and immediately contribute to the Techster's success. I can't wait to see.
