Discussion was that a new indoor practice facility was going to be built and used as a meeting venue, when not in use by the team.

I think making Tech a meeting destination site will only enhance everything else it has going on and help the city of Ruston as a bonus!

The owner of the hotel where the Bulldogs stayed in Logan, UT, is doing that . .. building an indoor facility which can be used by football teams . . . or youth softball games . . . or youth soccer games, or conventions.

If they haven't broken ground, there is no way one could be opened in 2010 at this point on the calendar. That does not mean one is not planned for 2011 or '12.

Major renovations are needed there, cuz the motel is so 1960s/70s.

Demolition is more like it. The place is so far gone they could not even meet the Howard Johnson's standard to mantain the franchise and let me tell you, HoJo is not exactly the highest industry standard. That is why it became a Knight's Inn.

it's actually been built on the southern part of town. There will be a new hotel and convention center built next to the new stadium, but that's been put on hold by the developer until the economy picks up so who knows if it will happen.
