One thing I've noticed is that Dykes is purely a football coach. He talks more about specifics than ideals. I'm not gonna complain about Derek because I really do like what he brought to the table. But, he always seemed to leave me wondering as to what the heck we were trying to do besides teaching the guys "scheme discipline" and "playing with effort." I mean, he completely changed our offensive strategy after Navy (maybe during) because he realized it "wasn't us." What the heck does that mean!

Don't get me wrong, I like a cerebral, ethereal conversation as much as the next guy but... I wanna know what the heck we're trying to do out there. Moral platitudes only go so far...

I won't be there to see it, but what I hope to hear back from the Spring Game is pretty simple:

No injuries. That would do it for me.

Consistent good punts would be lagniappe.

If the Regal Blues are not going to be there you might need to slip by the tennis courts before the Spring Game starts. There are some nice action shots on their FACEBOOK site.

    Re: Spring game expectations??

Just looking for a football fix.
Will be looking specifically at our schemes and how they are run.
Will also be looking at how our players seem to fit within those schemes. Do we have viable options in the key positions?

Those are the things I'm going to look at.

    Agree.
I was impressed with Creer. But then again, we should expect that. The guy was all-world coming out of High School and then transferred in from Tennessee. He should be busting through walls.
