    Humanitarian Bowl

The Bowl is contracted for the next four years to have one of the WACs top teams against the third best MAC team.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a crappy deal for the WAC? This is potentially a horrible deal for a few WAC teams. Fresno, San Jose, Hawaii, New Mexico State, and Tech would play a team from middle America in Boise, Idaho....

We really need to find a new conference...
Can we just create our conference?

Yes, I think this is a terrible matchup. The 3rd from the MAC??? First, we should not even be playing the MAC, too far away and no fan base in the area. Next, if we do play them, it should be #1 vs. #1 or at least #2 vs. #2 if one of the #1's goes to a BCS bowl. What bozo negotiated this contract?????? :icon_wink:

    Re: Humanitarian Bowl

Thank Missy Setters and the Indy Bowl for this because the ACC-MWC contract opened the other side of the Humanitarian Bowl.

The International Bowl folded so the MAC needed somewhere to send their 3rd place team.

    Updated WAC Bowl line-up

    - Humanitarian Bowl vs. MAC #3 in Boise

    - Hawaii Bowl vs. Conference USA #2 in Honolulu

    - New Mexico Bowl vs. Mountain West #4/5 in Albuquerque

    - Emerald Bowl vs. Pac-10 #6 in San Francisco (2010, 2013) *ACC contingency bid if the Pac-10 can't fill their spot

    - Poinsettia Bowl vs. Mountain West #2 in San Diego (2011, 2012) *WAC contingency bid if Navy is not eligible in 2010 or Army is not eligible in 2013

    - BCS Bowl a) for the highest rated non-AQ team if they finish in the top 12 or b) they finish in the top 16 and higher than an AQ champion or c) if a non-AQ team finishes in the top 14, they can receive an at-large bid *The WAC has received a BCS Bowl bid for 3 of the last 4 years.

If Boise goes BCS and Navy isn't bowl eligible, the WAC would have 6 bowl tie-ins next season.

The Owls, I guess. But bowl tie-ins aren't usually that married to the standings. The H-bowl has the third pick of MAC teams.

    Re: Humanitarian Bowl

I don't necessarily mind the match up. I should provide the WAC with a bowl win which helps the conference look good at the end of bowl season when they start showing how each conference did in the post season. For the non-AQ schools, this is a bonus as it will help when recruiting. We can show that we have tougher competition in the conference than these other non-AQ conferences. Sure, I'd like to see a match-up from an AQ conference, but it's not totally crappy that we don't have one. Besides, lets take care of business, and we might not even have to worry about the H Bowl.
