The word on the street is that Devon is now offering to pay $$ to landowners to do a seismic survey of about 80 sections around Ruston. Cajun Exploration is rumored to be helping Devon with this.

Word has it that Chesapeake is expected to make an announcement in 2011 about a major new find. Hopefully, it has to do with the Ark-La-Tex, and North Louisiana, in particular!
Also, Eagle Ford is more attractive because it is a wet gas (and I aint talking about a "shart"). Wet gas has more natural gas liquids in it, which is indexed off of the price of oil rather than NG. Obviously, the oil to NG ratio has blown up to record highs. Haynesville gas is dry as a bone. Lower cost to develop plus more attractive pricing leads to a lot of rigs moving down to Eagle Ford, until Natural Gas can rally. We dont look for a NG rally until second half of 2011 when production finally starts to come down some after a nice year and a half of growth/peaking in a well over supplied market.
I'm guessing he means flare? Shale doesn't usually produce a lot while drilling, it's a tight gas and has to be fractured to get it out. Could have been other formations above, though.
He's probably talking about the 80 sections.
I understand that there is some seismic testing taking place in Union Parish. Is this part of the 80-section play?
Hopefully some Tech supporters will become overnight millionaires and be generous with their new found riches.
